June 8 - Stopped by the cheese-making demo prior to climbing the steep path leading to Gruyere Castle.

(A perfectly preserved old castle-village, isolated on its crag but within easy reach of Lake Geneva, GRUYÃ?RES is one of Switzerlandâ??s most photogenic sights and attracts hordes of daytrippers throughout the summer season, come to stroll on the villageâ??s only street and explore the impressive château. By 10am in season, the village can get uncomfortably crowded, and can stay so until late afternoon. Cars are banned, but you'll find several large parking areas on the hillside just below...To approach it, you must walk the length of Gruyèresâ??s dipping, picturesque main street with its central fountain and quaint old houses on either side bedecked with hanging signs. A huge gate at the end affords entry to the castle grounds.- from switzerland.isyours.com.)

Ouchy, Lausanne, Switzerland

Right after the Sunday mass

June 8 Sunday mass was at a small Catholic chapel in Lausanne. It felt close to home seeing some friends from yesterdayâ??s lunch get-together in that solemn ceremony. It looked like a small Catholic community where everyone knew one another.

The weather early on was nippy then was comfortably cool after the mass, though it was all bright and sunny. There really was no need even for a light knit cardigan.

Next stop was Ouchy, a lakeside terrace on which to stroll, chill out, and enjoy the mountain views and fresh breezes. From internet sources, â??officially â?? and proudly â?? Ouchy is a separate commune from Lausanne, having survived for years as a fishing port, but these days, although some fishing continues, itâ??s become one of the more chic of the Swiss lakeside resorts, with waterfront cafés abounding.â??

It is also here in Ouchy that you will find the Beau-Rivage Palace and the Musee Olympique where we took some of our more colorful and artistic shots.

(June 7) Weâ??ve visited a lot of places today and have probably covered a lot of mileage but the day was far from over. By 9:30 PM, we were back in the Swiss riviera in Vevey to wait for the sunset. We had a few more minutes to take some great shots.
