What a time for my mom (the kids' granny of course) to get sick with dengue! We were all anxiously looking for an AB+ blood type donor for the much needed platelets. Her count was down from a normal of 120,000 to 20,000! Yikes!

Anyway, the itinerary for today was originally a day trip to Tagaytay, but since we had to monitor my mom's condition, we opted to spend the time at the Fort which was a few minutes away from Makati Medical Center. It was a first for both Matt & Kyle to try golf and what fun they had!

This Christmas, we decided to veer away from giving clothes as presents... at least for the ladies.... We gave spa certificates instead.

Above are photos of some of the wonderful presents we received this year...

One of Our Christmas Dinners

Fusion dining - Spanish, Filipino, Japanese food....
That's me looking full...
Our famished guests... hehehe...

Jerry's mom, brother and sisters are mostly based in Cebu. So every December, everyone in the family is bound to gain weight from all the dinners being hosted by each family member. Our treat was set on Dec. 22, the least busy day in our schedules.

Since my kitchen skill is close to nil, Jerry and I put together some sort of fusion dining by assembling some of our favorite dishes bought from the restos. We had authentic Spanish paella and steaks from Arano's, smoked milkfish and grilled pork from Cheaverz, and roasted chicken from... I forgot where...

Though we bought most of the dishes, more popular were the Japanese food we prepared ourselves - cold soba with special sauce, wasabi and nori strips, AND my very own version of the kani sarada (crabmeat, rice etc. in nori cones). The guests simply kept coming back for more!
